Children thrive in a Montessori environment, learning both independently and collaboratively how to make choices, manage their time and develop strong communication skills through exchanging ideas. These skills build a solid foundation and healthy self-esteem that will stay with them through their lives.
WHAT MAKES A MONTESSORI EDUCATION UNIQUE?
1. The “whole child” approach helps each child reach full potential in all areas of life. Activities promote social and emotional growth as well as physical coordination and cognitive preparation. Children experience the joy of learning.
2. The “prepared environment” supports self-directed learning. Teachers provide resources and opportunities for children to function in safe, positive surroundings, providing them the trust to try new things and build self-confidence.
3.The Montessori materials. Dr. Maria Montessori observed the kinds of things children enjoy and designed materials which facilitate learning skills and lead to the grasp of abstract ideas.
4. The Montessori teacher is extensively trained, and functions as a designer of the environment, resource person, role model, demonstrator, record-keeper and meticulous observer of each child’s behaviour and growth.
Your child will remember their preschool or daycare experience forever!
